Check Your Balls

A social experiment for Movember.

One button. One check per person. Every check resets the global timer to 60 seconds. If it reaches zero, the experiment ends forever.

ONE BUTTON. ONE WORLD. 60 SECONDS.

Check Your Balls is a global social experiment created for Movember.

  1. 1

    One shared countdown

There is one button and one 60-second countdown shared by everyone in the world.

  2. 2

    Check, press, reset

Every time someone checks their balls and presses the button, the timer resets to 60 seconds for everyone.

  3. 3

    Only once

But here's the catch: you can only press it once.

  4. 4

    Zero is final

If the countdown ever reaches zero, the experiment ends forever.

  5. 5

    New people, every minute

The only way to keep it alive is for new people to keep checking, every single minute.

  6. 6

    The mission

Keep the timer alive until November 30 and reach one million checks.

One million reminders to take men's health seriously.

THE IDEA BEHIND THE BUTTON.

2015 · Reddit

The Button

On April 1, 2015, Reddit launched an experiment called “The Button”: one 60-second countdown that everyone watched together. Each account created before that day could press it once, resetting the timer for all.

People received different coloured flair depending on when they pressed. After roughly a million presses, the timer finally ran out on June 5, 2015.

It became a fascinating experiment in human behaviour, patience and collective participation. Check Your Balls takes inspiration from that concept and gives it a new purpose. Our timer, colours and goal are our own.

Every November

Movember

Movember is a global movement raising awareness of men's health, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

We wanted to turn a simple internet experiment into a reminder for men to pay attention to their bodies. Not just another viral button, but something with an actual message.

Now

Internet culture meets real-world awareness

The internet can bring thousands of strangers together around something as simple as a countdown.

What if we used that same collective energy to spread an important message? That's how Check Your Balls was born.

One click might seem meaningless. One million reminders could make a difference.

Check Your Balls is an independent initiative. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Reddit or the Movember Foundation.

A MINUTE COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Movember is about more than mustaches. It's about getting men to talk about their health, notice changes and seek help when something feels wrong.

Testicular cancer is uncommon overall, but it's one of the most common cancers in men aged 15 to 35. It's also one of the most treatable: most men are cured, especially when it's found early. Knowing what's normal for you is how you notice early.

This experiment promotes awareness. Pressing the button is a personal declaration, not medical verification or a substitute for professional advice.

How to check

  1. Pick your moment. After a warm shower or bath, when the skin is relaxed. Once a month is plenty.
  2. One at a time.Hold each testicle between your thumb and fingers and roll it gently. It should feel smooth and firm, not hard.
  3. Learn your normal. One being a bit bigger or hanging lower is common. The soft tube at the back (the epididymis) is supposed to be there.
  4. Notice changes.A lump or swelling, a hard area, a change in size or shape, or a heavy or aching feeling.
  5. Something different? Book a doctor. Most lumps aren't cancer, but a doctor should take a look. It's quick, and they've seen it all before.

ONE MILLION BALL CHECKS.

One million people. One simple reminder. A global movement for men's health.

Deadline: November 30, 23:59:59 UTC.

Two separate goals: reaching 1,000,000 checks is the community milestone. Keeping the timer alive through November 30 is the time challenge.

About the experiment.

  • There is one button and one global 60-second timer shared by everyone.
  • Every new check resets the timer to 60 for the whole world.
  • You get one check. Your colour is set by the server from the time left when it lands.
  • If the timer reaches zero, the button locks forever. Nobody can restart it.
  • The experiment starts automatically when the coin's launch is verified on the Solana blockchain.

One check per person is enforced per browser with a signed identity, a per-network limit and a bot check. That stops casual repeat presses, but no website can prove one human pressed once, so read the count as a community signal, not a census.

Independent project. Not affiliated with, endorsed by or raising money for the Movember Foundation. You never need to buy or hold the token to take part. Nothing here is financial advice.
